ABSTRACT
In the study, it is aimed to determine the state-trait anxiety levels of the Gen X and Gen Y unemployed people who apply to the Turkish Employment Agency İŞKUR for job search. For this purpose, analyzes are made on the relationship between the state-trait anxiety level and variables such as the demographic characteristics of the participants, the duration of job search, financial support from the family, the living status of the parents, the presence/absence of income such as rent. The sample of the research consists of a total of 765 people, 186 women and 579 men registered to İŞKUR, in Muğla 381 participants and Ankara 384 participants . “The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory” developed by C. D. Spielberger et al. 1970 and adapted to Turkish by Öner and Le Compte 1983 is used in the study to determine the anxiety levels of the unemployed the Gen X and Gen Y. As a result of the analysis, it has been revealed that the Gen X and Gen Y unemployed people in Muğla and Ankara who apply to İŞKUR have a medium level of anxiety. While there is no significant difference between the groups according to the province variable in the level of trait anxiety among the unemployed generation X; a significant difference was found between Muğla and Ankara in the state anxiety level. According to this, the Gen X unemployed in Muğla are more concerned about the unemployment situation they are in, compared to the Gen X unemployed people residing in Ankara. In the Gen Y, there is a significant difference in the state and trait anxiety inventory according to the province variable. Accordingly, it has been concluded that the anxiety level of Gen Y is higher in Ankara compared to Muğla
