ABSTRACT
Economic and social development of a country is related to its education system. Especially, vocational education has pretty much importance in terms of competitiveness. Therefore, children and young people should be oriented into jobs according to their skills. In this mean, vocational orientation and education at the level of secondary education is needed to the pretty important changes in Turkey. In this regard, in Turkey, both all issues of general education and vocational education system at the level of secondary level were studied in this paper. Also, in the last 10 years, Finland and other Scandinavian countries which have recently been mentioned about their approach towards education is generally studied. Together with this, it is discussed that, if any, what kind of obstacles are there in Turkey for the applicability of the models have been used in Scandinavian countries and how these obstacles can be overcome.
