ABSTRACT
Capitalism tries to overcome its crisis through expanding into the areas where capital accumulation can be revaluated, and employment of cheaper, more flexible and precarious forms of labor is possible. The goal of neo-liberal policies that have been implemented all around the world since the 1980s is to commoditize the basic needs for the reproduction of labor, such as education, health and accommodation, and make flexible and precarious forms of employment common in employment markets. This class- working in precarious jobs and called the precariat-is growing day by day. This article focuses on the neo-liberal transformation of universities and the problems relating to unemployment and precarity faced by research assistants employed under the contract of 50/d. In this regard, the problems faced by these research assistants relating to unemployment and precarity are presented based on the semistructured interviews.
