ABSTRACT
Within the extent of this paper, the cultural making of the working class, after the institutionalization of the labor in 1946-1947 unionization process and the foundation of Türk-Iş confederation in 1952, will be investigated through the analysis of the publications made by and for the unions and working class in general. In this way, how the intellectual knowledge, consciousness and social awareness of the workers were shaped will be questioned. The paper will mostly be based on the interviews made by Yıldırım Koç and documents found in the Kemal Sülker Archive of the International Institute of Social History [IISH]
