ABSTRACT
Individuals with life-threatening diseases and their relatives may face some psychosocial problems during the palliative care process. In addition to psychological factors such as anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, other problems such as disruption of the daily life order, changes in roles, interruption in work life, economic difficulties, and deterioration in family relationships can affect the care process and impair the quality of life of individuals. It is very important to provide psychosocial support services including interventions for these problems within the scope of palliative care which aims to increase the quality of life of individuals. Psychosocial support services are one of the important components of palliative care philosophy as a requirement of the psychosocial dimension of health. In order to provide effective, quality and complete palliative care, it is necessary to develop psychosocial support services and to ensure that they are provided effectively to individuals who receive services within the scope of palliative care. In this study, palliative care services and psychosocial support services within the scope of palliative care were explained with the support of the literature and the importance of these services in the field of palliative care was emphasized
