ABSTRACT
As the half of Syrian population being subject to internal or external migration, Syria has been the source of largest number of refugees of lastest decades. Turkey is hosting the largest refugee population among other countries. As for April 2017, 3.2 million Syrians and almost 300 000 people coming from other countries were trying to build a new life in Turkey as refugees and asylum seekers. Syrians living outside the refugee camps for more than a year and trying to adjust to the living condition in Turkey, struggling to meet the needs, such as accommodation, security, health, nutrition, employment, education and social exclusion. At the sixth year of the current crises, employment of Syrian carries a vital importance for the social integration process. The objective of this paper is to analyze the challenges of Syrian refugees face in having to access to Turkish labor market and unemployment of young refugees in Istanbul. In particular, the paper aims to put forward the effects of unemployment issue among young Syrians and compare their situation with Turkey’s own youth as well as an analysis of the dynamics of Istanbul labor market
